She earned her degrees from the University of the Philippines: MHE, M.Ed. (Guidance), Ph.D. (Education); and from Miriam College, MS Environmental Studies (Academics). She has been a college professor in U.P., first Dean of Graduate Studies in Emilio Aguinaldo College and Dean of Graduate School, Miriam College until 2002. She was a contributor to the Faculty Research Journal of Miriam College where her researches on the Filipino children, adolescents, parents, grandparents, and the elderly, were published.
