He is a graduate of the Pontifical Biblical Institute in Rome. He has been teaching Scriptures for almost four decades now, first at the Pontifical College of Dalat in Vietnam, then at the Catholic Institute of West Africa in the city of A’bidjan, and from 1980 in the Philippines, particularly at the Loyola School of Theology, Ateneo de Manila University, and Xavier University. A prolific writer, Nil Guillemette received in 2007 the Jaime Cardinal Sin Catholic Book Awards Lifetime Achievement recognition for his numerous published works, which included several volumes of God-Tales, Commentaries on the liturgical readings, and Biblical essays.
