Daughters of Saint Paul

MLE Workshop Selangor Community

The enthusiastic FSP community of Selangor succeeded in undergoing a 10-day MLE seminar-workshop from 24th November to 3rd December, 2015 conducted by Sr Consolata Manding, who came all the way from Manila.

One might ask, “How was it possible when they are only three (3) Sisters in the community?”  Well, it was made possible through the generosity of two APCs, Maria and Helen, who came daily to serve at the Media Centre during those ten days, reinforcing the two new LMPs.

It was the first time for Sr. Consolata to give an MLE seminar for that many days at a stretch, she said.  She creatively consolidated the PICA MLE content for this seminar, which included a comprehensive range of topics: TV, films, radio, Ads, print, internet, culture of communication, church documents, media spirituality, popular music.  It turned out to be, for the Sisters, a very informative and educative series of input and workshops. The ten days of full-time, intensive learning was well worth it because the Sisters now are ready, and timely for this Jubilee Year of Mercy, to include MLE in their mission throughout Peninsular Malaysia.  Thanks to Sr Consolata who availed herself despite her tight schedule.  And thank the Holy Spirit, who inspired the Sisters to make the request and disposed the community to the spirit of Studiosita.

Those days of learning made us realized that it is important for every Daughter of St Paul to keep herself updated, and be open and ready to work with the new media platforms and social media that are constantly emerging in our midst today, because all of these are important means that can bring God’s children back to Him.
