Two June Brides March Down the Aisle with Christ

On June 30, 2009, Novices Cherell Bacus and Roseling Siaw Chen made their first religious profession in the presence of Sr. Yolanda Dionisio, FSP Provincial Superior during the Eucharistic celebration presided by Rev. Fr. Joseph P. Mendoza with seven (7) concelebrating priests.

In his homily, Fr. Mendoza congratulated the two Sisters for being courageous to choose the road less traveled and dared to walk in faith. Today, God is making a commitment of love to you. Sr. Rose and Sr. Cherell, as you consecrate yourself to God, you are saying no to your plans just as you are saying yes to God’s love. Your old self has died and a new person has emerged. Now, you no longer choose what you like but what pleases the Lord. Religious life is a life of obedience to God’s plans. It is a life where God is in charge and where you are constantly asked to let go.

He said that people are living in a world where media dominate the lives of people. These are the people, God is calling them to love and serve. Their act of consecration is also a call for them to share the love and mercy of God which they have experienced in their life. He assured them not be to afraid to evangelize in faith, in hope and love and with love. [com20090630_first-big]
