PLMP Lenten Recollection 2011

The Paulines Lay Mission Partners made their annual Lenten recollection last April 2, 2011 with the theme: “Kung hindi kita huhugasan, hindi ka makababahagi sa akin.” (If I don’t wash you, you can have no part with me.)

To enter better into the day of recollection, the day began with the Way of the Cross. Immediately afterwards, the PLMPs then viewed a film entitled “Sa ‘Yo Lamang” (For You Alone) which explores the themes of forgiveness and reconciliation. It was followed by reflection and group sharing.

In the afternoon, Fr. Rey Cruz (speaker), parish priest of San Rafael Parish, gave an inspiring talk where he pointed out that all are blessed because God called them and entrusted them with a mission. All are bestowed with special gifts and talents for God’s service. All are called to serve with love and humility. He said: “If we are aware of God’s love for us, we will not think as loss or burden the time, effort, and resources we have spent in working for God’s service.” He encouraged everyone to take every opportunity to serve God and our brothers and sisters who are in need, with love and humility just as Jesus served, loved, and became one with us.

The celebration of the Holy Eucharist presided by Fr. Peter Barisoro, SSP culminated the whole day of recollection.
