SUMMER MISSION in NAGA

A one month summer mission was conducted by the Daughters of St. Paul (FSP) Naga community in collaboration with the Pasay Diffusers.  The Sisters visited St. Paul the Apostle Parish, Sagrada, Buhi, Camarines Sur, Archdiocese of Caceres from March 12-April 12, 2011.

The activities include: home-to-home visit, catechism integrated with film forum, Bible enthronement, collection of pornographic materials and parish book displays in the nearby parishes . The families who lived near the mountains were gathered in one area in order that the Sisters have the chance to talk to them. They were asked to fill up the form for their parish profile.Sr. Lourdes Ranara gave vocation talks to the youth and Bible seminar to the parish pastoral leaders.

The one month summer mission concluded with a symbolic burning of pornographic materials led by the Parochial Vicar, Fr. Marcial Zagada Jr. Some parishioners who were present actively participated in the burning rite. The parish priest, Fr. Santiago Turiano Jr., expressed his warmest gratitude to the Sisters for their presence and mission conducted in his parish. He looked forward to the Sisters’ next visit.

The Sisters who carried out the mission – Sisters Leah delos Santos, Susan Penaflor, Roseling Siaw Chen and Sr. Josephine Tablante – commented that the priests and the parishioners were responsive and colloborative, thus, making the summer mission successful and fruitful.
