Students Video Festival 2012

 

The Daughters of St. Paul organized a “Students Video Festival” in celebrating the 46th World Communications Day (WCD) with the theme, “Silence & Word: Path of Evangelization”. The grand finals was held last June 17, 2012 at the Alberione Auditorium, Pasay City. This event was participated in by eleven (11) schools from Cavite, Olongapo and Pasay City and attended by more than two hundred students and over 80 young people from other youth organizations.

The event was opened by a Eucharistic Celebration presided by Fr. Ramil Tapang, SSP. who discussed the theme of the 46th WCD. He challenged the assembly to go and proclaim the Good News, to become Jesus for others not only in words, but also in deeds using the language of love.

The grand finals followed the following steps: screening of all video entries, casting of votes by the audience and evaluation by the board of judges composed of Sr. Consolata Manding, FSP, Director Lemuel Garcellano and Bro. Hansel Mapayo, SSP.

The following are the participating schools and their video entries.

c) Columban College, Main, Olongapo City – Gabay (3rd Place)

d) St. Joseph College, Olongapo City – Lifeline (4th Place)

e) Little Angel Study Center, Olongapo City – Emergency Prayer (5th Place)

f) Divine Heart of Mary Montessori School, Imus, Cavite – Walk to Talk (6th Place)

g) St. Jerome Emiliani Institute, Bacoor, Cavite – Listen

h) St. Thomas More Academy, Bacoor, Cavite – Boy

I) Columban College, Baretto, Olongapo City – Song Montage

j) Magsaysay Memorial College, San Narciso, Zambales – Unconditional Love

k) St. Odilard School, Imus, Cavite –Faithlink

The winners and the participating schools received cash prizes and special gifts from sponsors. This event was spearheaded by Paulines Institute of Communications in Asia (PICA) through Sr. Clothilde de las Llagas, FSP.
