Daughters of Saint Paul

Religious Perpetual Profession 2012

Sisters Rhodora Asuncion Alarcon and Ling Gutierrez pronounced their final vows before Sr. Yolanda Dionisio, FSP, Provincial Superior pf Philippines-Malaysia-Papua New Guinea and Thailand (PMPT) Province during the Eucharistic celebration presided by Most. Rev. Mylo Hubert Vergara, D.D., Bishop of Pasig Diocese with concelebrating priests at the Queen of Apostles Sanctuary on June 30, 2012.

He pointed out 3 things to ponder on: vocation, mission and communion. He said that vocation is a precious gift from God and one must be full of gratitude for being called and chosen to be His own. A call is more meaningful when one is sent on a mission. Jesus assures everyone of his communion in the Eucharist where He nourishes one’s vocation, strengthens one’s mission and deepens one’s communion with Him.

Bishop Vergara told the assembly that this year, we are celebrating the Year of Faith, a year of renewal, a time to retrace the history of our faith. He said that Pope Benedict XVI in his Apostolic Letter, Porta Fidei reminded the religious that they bear witness of the kingdom: “By faith, men and women have consecrated their lives to Christ, leaving all things behind so as to live obedience, poverty and chastity with Gospel simplicity, concrete signs of waiting for the Lord who comes without delay.” (Art. 13).

The Provincial Superior gave the mandate to Sr. Ling Gutierrez and Sr. Rhodora Alarcon to carry out the Pauline mission in the local Churches of Cebu and Pasay respectively. The newly-perpetual professed Sisters rendered the song “Magnificat” accompanied by the assembly. Agape followed with the members of the families, friends and guests of the Sisters.
