Mulanay, Quezon Summer Mission 2013

With the theme “Pananampalatayang Buhay sa Salita ng Diyos Nakabatay,” the aspirants, pre-postulants, postulants, novices, juniors and some perpetual professed sisters went to St Peter the Apostle Parish, Mulanay, Quezon for a summer mission. From April 19 to May 8, 2013 they carried out different activities in coordination with the parish priest, Rev. Fr. Angelo Ramil Caparros and the Franciscan Missionaries of the Infant Jesus (FMIJ) Sisters. They were hosted at the St Peter Apostle Catholic School which is run by the FMIJ Sisters.

The day after their arrival, the formators conducted a bible seminar to a group of MSK (Munting Sambayanang Kristiyano) prayer leaders in San Francisco, Quezon. There was a big attendance and the participants were very open to learning more about the Word of God.

During the three-week mission, the group visited twelve MSK where they conducted home visits, Bible enthronements, gave catechism sessions to both children and adults. They also had book exhibits in different parishes on Sundays and conducted vocation campaigns (in line with the World Day of Prayer for Vocations), vocation search-in for young ladies in the parish, media animation, etc. They also gave a 2-day recollection for catechists on the last Sunday of the mission.

The mission was concluded with a symbolic burning of pornographic materials which was collected during the home visits. It was attended by parish youth ministry, the parishioners and was presided over by the parish priest and his assistant.
