Bible Seminar in Parañaque-Las Piñas

They were desirous to know Jesus more. Yes, forty women and two men attended a 2-day Bible seminar in the chapel of the Miraculous Medal of the Mother of the Church Parish. They belong to different parishes in Parañaque and Las Piñas. Some were lectors, some were members of the Catholic Women’s League (CWL) and Mother Butler’s Guild, and others were simply invited by these fervent church workers. But the main organizers and attendees were the Divine Mercy group.

On the second day, the group dwindled to 26 (ahime!). Really, it is not easy to follow Christ! But (a consolation!); the gentlemen remained 100% and four persons committed themselves to form a core group who would pursue the Bible Ministry. Not bad. Four were the first followers of St. Ignatius of Loyola when he founded the Jesuits. Four were the first loyal boys of Blessed Alberione when he founded the Society of St. Paul.

There was enthusiastic listening to the ardent presentations of Sr. Divinia de Claro. As feedback, the participants acknowledge their need to learn about the Bible. In the Lectio Divina, Sr. Evangelina Canag taught the participants how to go into deep silence, then to eat, to chew and to taste – the WORD OF GOD.

The sharing of some participants of their struggle in life and their experience of God’s mighty intervention touched the hearts of those present and proved once more that God is present and working in our lives even when we are not aware of it. Glory to God!
