Pastoral Work for Vocations Goes Digital

The FSP Vocation Team organized for the first time an Online Vocation Forum dubbed as #vocFIRE: Faith in Response to an Extremely Amazing Call to Love using Zoom, currently a popular video-conferencing service, last November 28, 2020 at 8PM.

The forum, with Sr. Rhodora Asuncion Alarcon, FSP as resource speaker, gathered forty-six participants from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao, plus one from Sabah, Malaysia. Most of participants also joined the succeeding Online Advent Recollection for young ladies held on December 6, 2020 at 4PM, likewise via Zoom.

In her opening remarks and orientation to the young participants of the said online recollection, Sr. Mary Jane Alibo, FSP, the National Vocation Directress who is now based in our branch house in Baguio, emphasized God’s unfailing providence and abiding presence. She stated that “not even the Covid 19 pandemic has been able to shut all the doors; there are other possibilities being opened to us. Thanks be to God for the gift of technology! Our being together here this afternoon via Zoom is indeed a manifestation of God’s continual providence and love for all of us.”

Sr. Ann Marie Nemenzo, FSP, invited speaker for the recollection, delved on the theme, “In holiness and devotion we wait for the coming of the Lord,” which is taken from 2Peter 3:11-12

The two online events for vocations were done in cooperation with Paulines Institute of Communication in Asia (PICA) through its staff, Sr. Shirley Chong, FSP, who hosted both Zoom meetings.

At present, the FSP Vocation Team is composed of Sr. Mary Jane Alibo, Sr. Ma. Antonieta Molina, Sr. Lourdes Cabuguas, Sr. Santa Conde, and Sr. Aemy Soo. – Sr. Mayan Molina, FSP
