On June 15,2015, the actual 100th Anniversary of Foundation of the Daughters of St. Paul, a brass band came to the convent in Pasay to liven things up. The sisters paraded through the convent grounds according to their year of profession, followed by the young sisters in formation, some Pauline Cooperators, Pauline Mission Partners (our lay staff) and friends.
The Sisters processed to the altar singing their thanksgiving song at the beginning of Mass where Fr. Mario Sobrejuanite presided. He congratulated the Sisters for what has been accomplished for the past 100 years. He also encouraged and challenged the Sisters to remain faithful to the charism of Fr. James Alberione for the next hundred years!
After mass, a hundred poor people were invited for a Bible Sharing with the Paulines. They didn’t know that it was a treat – the Sisters’ way of sharing with them the joy of their centennial. A short instruction and sharing on the Bible was given by Sr. Lyn Lagasca. After which, they were served lunch and given a surprise gift for the family. The children were also given some toys.
In the evening, a program was prepared to honor the silver jubilarians. The pre-postulants, postulants and juniors surprised the professed sisters with a beautifully handcrafted greeting they themselves made, and a long-stemmed, red rose for each of the sister in Pasay.
