Full of gratitude to the Lord for the 100 grace-filled years of the Daughters of St. Paul, the Vocation Team (Sr. Maricar, Sr. Amelyne and Sr. Cristina) conducted Vocation and Media Awareness talks as well as Bible Mission in Surallah, South Cotabato and Luzon, Davao Oriental from May 12 until May 27, 2015.
“ I want to say one word to you and this word is joy. Wherever consecrated people are, there is always joy. It is the joy of freshness, the joy of following Jesus; the joy that the Holy Spirit gives us, not the joy of the world.”
These words of Pope Francis impelled the sisters to go the extra mile to visit families. They brought books and enthroned Bibles to poor families who have almost nothing materially but are rich in faith.
In the parishes they gave talks on media and vocation to the youth, hoping that this would in some way awake their own vocation to serve the Lord, love him more and eventually follow Him.
One catechist even said, “It’s the first time that I experienced sisters in the community – being with us, praying and playing with the kids after the ‘Flores de Mayo.’ I’m very happy sisters and thankful to God that you are here.”
These simple folks did not know that being with them gave great joy as well to the sisters because they embodied simplicity, kindness, love and generosity.
