On its Centenary of Foundation, the Daughters of Saint Paul conducted a special Lenten recollection for the Pauline Mission Associates with the theme “The Mercy and Compassion of God towards the Poor.”
This annual activity of the congregation was highlighted by both ecclesiastical and congregational events namely the Year of the Poor declared by the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) and the 100th Foundation Anniversary of the Daughters of St. Paul. More than 500 benefactors and collaborators attended the recollection held on Holy Thursday, April 2, 2015 at the Daughters of St. Paul convent in Pasay City.
Sr. Monina Baybay gave a conference on the Year of the Poor and firmed up her insightful and challenging talk by showing three moving and thought-provoking videos entitled “Pagpag,” “Chicken a la Carte,” and “Minsan Lang.”
Sr. Evangelina Canag gave the conference on the Centenary of the Congregation. She highlighted the journey of faith and love of the Congregation. A journey on which the Lord led us and view our story as magnificent work of God relating it to the individual’s personal story.
In the afternoon a Penitential Service was conducted and the day’s recollection was culminated by the Celebration of the Lord’s Supper at Mary Queen of the Apostles Sanctuary presided over by Rev. Fr. Paolo Angelo Asprer, SSP.
