The Daughters of St. Paul in Tacloban launched the centenary of their foundation (1915-2015) in a Eucharistic celebration on Easter Sunday, April 5, 2015, at the Sto. Nino Church. Fr. Aaron Quilaneta was the presider and Fr. Oscar Florencio gave a moving homily about Easter and the presence of the FSP in the Archdiocese of Palo, and in the world.
After the Mass, the Sisters, Pauline Cooperators and Pauline Lay Mission Partners visited the kids at Seawall and Serin in Tacloban. These kids experienced intense trauma during the Yolanda catastrophe. Sr Gemma Ria Dela Cruz gave a short catechism on the Resurrection of Jesus.
Grateful for the Easter visit, the kids joyfully exclaimed: Pasko yana! Pasko han Pagkabanhaw ni Hesus! (It’s Easter! It’s the feast of the Resurrection of Jesus!)
