Paulines Publishing House participated in the 35th Manila International Book Fair (MIBF), the largest annual book festival in the Philippines, which took place at SMX Convention Center, SM Mall of Asia Complex, Pasay City, on September 17-21, 2014.
The MIBF kicked off to showcase thousands of various books throughout the country. Book lovers of various ages coming from all walks of life flocked to the Fair and had an opportunity to browse and purchase valuable books in hundreds of exhibitor booths. The 5-day Fair was open from 10:00am until 8:00pm.
On September 19 was the launching of the Paulines Online Shop by Sr. Rosario Agtarap, FSP webmaster, where she offered some Paulines products available to the public and explained in detail how to purchase the media products online. This was followed by the presentation of the new Paulines children’s book “To Jesus through Mary” by Sr. Bernardita Dianzon, FSP editor-in-chief in the absence of the father and daughter authors.
There were other events happening simultaneously, in different parts of SMX Convention Center such as talks and book signings.
The Asian Catholic Communicators Inc. headed by Sr. Ling Gutierre also organized a Liturgical Music Seminar/Workshop which exceeded expected attendance. Rev. Fr. Leo Nilo C. Mangussad, parish priest of EDSA Shrine, gave an interesting, impassioned and enlightening presentation of liturgical music, offered tips and suggestions and corrected many of the erroneous practices in the liturgy.
