The Premiere and Launching of “Ang Anim na Magkakaibigan: Paghahanda sa Unang Pangungumpisal at Unang Komunyon” (The Six Friends: Preparing for First Confession and First Communion), on July 30, 2010 at 9:00 A.M. in the Cathedral Church of Our Lady of the Pillar, Imus, Cavite was attended by catechists, teachers, some priests and Religious Sisters, the cast and their families, together with the video production staff, spearheaded by the members of the Paulines Publishing House (PPH).
The said newly- released Paulines DVD is a catechetical video that aims to intensely prepare children for their First Confession and First Holy Communion and to help parents, teachers and catechists to meaningfully journey with the children in these special moments of their Catholic Christian life.
It is composed of two parts. The First Part is a Video-Drama that presents a basic formation for first communicants through an interesting story that they can relate to their own lives. The Second Part is a Catechesis about the Sacrament of Reconciliation and the Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist in Tagalog, Cebuano, and English, which is designed especially for the children’s parents to help them accompany their children in preparing to receive their First Holy Communion. An accompanying Guide on How to use the Video is also provided together with the DVD.
While waiting for the program to start, the catechesis part of the DVD was shown to those already present inside the cathedral. It was Bishop Luis Antonio Tagle himself who led the opening prayer. Significantly, Bishop Tagle is one of the cast in the video-drama as he was given a special role in one segment wherein he had a dialogue with the main characters who are all children. Hence, his mother, Mrs. Milagros Tagle, was also present together with other parents of the cast who came for the premiere and launching of the said video.
After the viewing of the video-drama, Sr. Yolanda Dionisio, the Provincial Superior of the Daughters of St. Paul in the Phil-Malaysian-PNG-Thai Province, handed the certificates of appreciation to the cast including Bishop Tagle; the director, Mr. Lemuel Garcellano; and the scriptwriter, Ms. Liwliwa Malabed. The Sisters of Jesus the Good Shepherd or Pastorelle Sisters were also acknowledged for their collaboration and valuable contribution to the realization of this catechetical video project.
The DVD is available at all Paulines Media Centers in the Philippines.
