AWRAM General Assembly in Pasay

he Association of Women Religious in the Archdiocese of Manila gathered at the Daughters of St Paul convent in Harrison Street, Pasay City for the AWRAM General Elective Assembly on July 28, 2013. The day started with the celebration of Holy Mass where more than 200 sisters joined in prayer and song.

Fr James Ferry, MM, Episcopal Vicar for Religious presided over the celebration and thanked the religious sisters for their invaluable ministry and dedicated service to the Archdiocese of Manila. Expounding on the liturgical readings of the day, he stressed that this ministry would not be possible without the commitment to prayer, the soul of every apostolate.

Out of 58 congregations in the Archdiocese of Manila, 42 were represented while the others could not make it for various reasons.  After Mass, the sisters spent time getting to know each other or catching up with former friends. They proceeded to the auditorium for the annual reports of the treasurer and chairperson. A revision of the AWRAM By-Laws and Constitutions was then presented to the body and was unanimously approved. This was followed by the election of board members and coordinators for each district in the Archdiocese.
