Daughters of Saint Paul

A First of its Kind

Twenty participants from the FSP branch houses and the central house attended the Front Accounting Seminar-Workshop facilitated by the Finance Central Office (FCO) last August 4-7, 2013 in Pasay City.

Customized by Sr. Shalimar Rubia, FSP with the assistance of Mr. Andrew Madrigallos (brother of Sr. Tina, FSP) who works as Systems & Network Administrator in Seiko IT Solutions Philippines, Inc., the new Web-based accounting program Front Accounting was adapted in 2012. One of its main features is that it is cloud based, that is, one can remotely access the software through the Internet. It replaced the FACT Accounting program used by FCO for many years.

To facilitate the timely submission and accuracy of financial reports, Sr. Delia Abian, FSP, and Sr. Josephine Olmilla, FSP deemed it necessary to extend the said program to the bookkeepers in the branch houses.

After the Sunday Eucharistic celebration, the seminar workshop began with the welcome address of the Provincial Superior, Sr. Noemi Vinoya, FSP. This was followed by a talk on Poverty by Sr. Delia who stressed the need to keep in mind the teachings of Blessed James Alberione regarding proper administration.

Armed with their laptops, the participants became very excited as Sr. Shalimar gave an overview of the accounting program. Being the first of its kind in the province, they were all responsive during the workshop and continued with their accounting work even after the seminar proper.
