Despite the massive damage of typhoon Haiyan/Yolanda in the Northern part of Palawan and the threat of typhoon Zoraida—Sisters Erlinda Escoto, Felina Lagasca, Anne Marie Nemenzo and Yolanda Dionisio still headed to Puerto Princesa, Palawan last Nov  12-19, 2013 for a weeklong Bible and Book Mission. The four sisters carried out the following activities:

  • Nov 13-15, 2013—Book mission at the Seminario de San Jose on the occasion of their 76th Foundation Day and the Diocesan Clergy assembly of the two Apostolic Vicariates in Palawan: Puerto Princesa and Taytay.
  • Nov. 16, 2013— A Bible Seminar was conducted by Sr. Yolanda and the Bible Enthronement and prayers were led by Sisters Erlinda and Felina at San Roque chapel. In the afternoon, Sr. Anne Marie gave a Bible Catechism at Bagong Silang Chapel (coastal area of the city) where 90% of the residents are Cebuanos. This was followed by a home-to-home visit and Bible enthronement where 50 families benefited from the “Biblia sa Bawat Pamilya Project”. Fr. Jasper Lahan, who is very active in building basic Christian communities, was with them for the whole day activity.  Before sunset, the sisters rushed to the Immaculate Conception Cathedral to have a book display.
  • Nov. 17, 2013  — From sunrise to sunset, the sisters had a book display at the Immaculate Conception Cathedral. Hundreds of parishioners flocked to our bookdisplay to buy books, audio visual materials and the Seven Sacraments posters.

The sisters are very grateful to God for the generous support and hospitality of the Pastorelle Sisters (with whom they stayed for three days), and the clergy, especially Fr. Juan Felipe Torrecampo (Parish Rector of the Immaculate Conception Cathedral), Fr. Noel del Rosario and Fr. Jasper Lahan.
