Paulines at the Catholic Social Media Summit version 2.0

Fifteen Pauline sisters bravely faced the challenge to revolutionize Social Media towards revolutionizing the Church in the light of the new evangelization. This triggering experience was the effect of their participation with more than 400  Filipino youth leaders, religious, priests from all over the country and foreign delegates in the 2nd Catholic Social Media Summit on  November 23-34,2013 at Colegio de San Juan de Letran in Intramuros, Manila. Msgr. Pepe Quitorio, Director of the CBCP Media office posted this to the participants as a way of emphasizing what it means to be a Catholic online.

The keynote speaker, Msgr. Paul Tighe, Secretary of the Pontifical Council for Social Communications, kindled the Christian identity and mission of the participants on how to be truly present and interactive in the world of Social Media. He highlighted that Jesus Christ is as the heart of all communications and emphasized the importance of authenticity in one’s relationship with God. Every speaker of the Summit echoed this message with their unique creative presentation, and how their audience could be responsible netizens and social media catalysts.

The Catholic Social Media Summit version 2 has indeed pushed those present to face the new media revolution and be cyber world evangelizers by taking the path of conversion, trumpeting the Truth, and networking with Life.
