Inspired by the words of St. Paul: “The Gospel is God’s power for the salvation of everyone who believes,” (Rom 1:16) Sr. Bernardita Dianzon started writing a short reflection on the daily Gospel in June 2012. It was posted as an image on Facebook which has an excerpt of the Gospel of the day, a reflection and a prayer. Gospel Powerwas born! It was immediately liked and shared by a lot of friends. Then it was also shared on Twitter and a board was created on Pinterest.
Priests started using it as a springboard for their homilies. Seminarians, nuns and lay people said it helped them enter more deeply into the Word of God daily. Other websites made it a daily feature on their pages. Thousands more shared it on their pages and feeds.
In response to an ever-growing request to make it available in print, Paulines Publishing House launched Gospel Power 2016 on September 20, 2015 at the 36th Manila International Book Fair. Sr. Bernie, as she is fondly called, signed copies of the book and gamely posed with her many “followers.”
Gospel Power is the first Paulines Philippines publication which started in digital format before it was put into print.
