Pauline Family launches APC centenary celebration

PASAY – The Pauline Family launched the year-long celebration of the APC’s Centenary of Foundation with a Holy Mass on June 30, feast of St. Paul the Apostle, Patron of the Pauline Family.

With the theme “Wake up the World with the Light of the Gospel,” the opening Mass was celebrated at the Queen of the Apostles Sanctuary, Daughters of St. Paul Convent, Pasay City.

Fr. Jose Aripio in his homily shared a significant and beautiful personal experience with some members of the APC.  He reminded the assembly to acknowledge the gifts of God especially the gift of vocation and mission. He challenged all the members to anchor themselves to God who is Light and to imitate St. Paul and Fr. Alberione.

After the Mass, members of the Pauline Family gathered at the Alberione auditorium for a short program and a simple agape.

A committee has been formed to oversee the program for the entire year. The Central Committee for the APC Centenary is composed of Fr. Ramil Tapang, SSP; Bro. BACOLOD -Thirteen members of the Association of Pauline Cooperators renewed their Solemn Promise during the Eucharistic celebration presided by Fr. Nitodel A. Soriano, Rector of the Mother of Perpetual Help Shrine in the Diocese of Bacolod to mark the opening of the Centenary of Foundation of the APC on June 30, feast of St. Paul, the Apostle.

Fr. Soriano extended his best wishes to the members of the APC, in their Pauline life and apostolate, and in partnership with the other institutes of the Pauline Family, especially the Daughters of St. Paul, Bacolod.

A fellowship was held after the celebration of the Holy Mass in the FSP Chapel, attended by some guests, Pauline Cooperators, Pauline Lay Mission Partners and the community. – Sr. Carmen Billones, FSP

 

 

     

BAGUIO -Members of the Association of Pauline Cooperators attended the Eucharistic celebration together at Our Lady of Atonement Cathedral, Baguio City to mark the opening of the Centenary of its Foundation on June 30, feast of St. Paul, the Apostle.

After the Mass, they proceeded to Citylight Restaurant for a short meeting and breakfast with Sr. Elvie Derecho and Sr. Elizabeth John Jothee.

 

APC Centenary opening highlights Feast of St. Paul

 

CDO – Members of the Pauline Family in Cagayan de Oro celebrated the Solemnity of St. Paul marking the opening of the centenary of foundation of the Association of Pauline Cooperators with a Holy Mass at the Fatima Chapel, June 30.

Presided by Msgr. Perseus Cabunoc, Rector of St. Augustine Metropolitan Cathedral and concelebrated by Fr. Garry Igot, Archdiocesan Director of Family Life Apostolate, the Eucharistic celebration was also in thanksgiving for the golden jubilee of religious profession of Sr. Ma. Caridad Ebon and Sr. Ma. Ester Sanchez.

In his homily, Msgr. Cabunoc congratulated the golden jubilarians for their fidelity in serving the Lord for the last 50 years. Their mission through diffusion of Bibles, catechetical and spiritual reading books in schools, parishes and offices has helped in molding and nurturing the Christian life of the people.

Msgr. Cabunoc also commended the efforts of the Pauline Cooperators in their works of evangelization through Bible and media animation. Even as he expressed his hopes for their numbers to increase, he also urged them to have the zeal of St. Paul in proclaiming the Gospel to all.

After the mass, the Pauline Cooperators distributed souvenirs commemorating the occasion while invited guests enjoyed the festive meal. – Sr. Tess Espina, FSP    

 

 

APC centenarian honored on APC centenary

 

     

                                              APC members renew their commitment during the Mass

                                           

CEBU – The FSP community paid tribute to an APC centenarian during the launching of the APC centenary on June 30.

Beatriz Avestruz, one of the pioneers and the first President of the Association of Pauline Cooperators, Cebu Chapter was given a Plaque of Appreciation in grateful recognition of her dedicated service as an APC and for being an exemplar in living a Eucharistic life. 

She goes to Mass everyday after which she goes to PDDM chapel for the Eucharistic adoration, a routine which she had been living since she was young up to present time at age 100.  She exudes serenity and holiness. Like the prophetess Anna, she spends her waking hours in prayer. 

Mrs. Avestruz was accompanied by Fr. Lester, her son who is a priest and is now based in the USA as one of the Chaplains of Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. 

Attended by members of the Pauline Family, the centenary of the Pauline Cooperators was launched at the PDDM Convent with a 3 pm Mass presided by Fr. Noel Magbanua, SSP. Fr. Lester also concelebrated the mass.

During the Mass the FSP Pauline Cooperators and the Friends of the Divine Master renewed their promise. A new member of the FSP-APC, Stella F. Nacua was inducted during this occasion. –Sr. Gina Rama, FSP

 

 

DAVAO – Six new members of the Association of Pauline Cooperators (APC) were inducted during the Eucharistic celebration on June 30, Solemnity of St. Paul, to mark the Opening of the Centenary of the Foundation of APC. The Mass was presided by Fr. Rene Taneza, SSP.

 

 

LEGAZPI – The Centenary of the Association of Pauline Cooperators (APC) was launched with a simple Eucharistic Celebration on June 30, Feast of St. Paul at the Daughters of St. Paul Chapel. Fr. Herbert Canar, a diocesan priest; presided the Mass at 3 pm.

Fr. Herbert in his homily pointed out the importance of the Pauline mission and the role of the cooperators in the Church.  One of the members of the APC expressed her great joy in joining the Opening Mass of the Centenary. The meaningful and joyful celebration ended with simple agape, with hearts full of gratitude to the Lord for this blessing!

 

 

NAGA – Members of the Association of Pauline Cooperators (APC) in Naga celebrated the feast of St. Paul and the opening of the APC Centenary with a Eucharistic celebration presided by Fr. Glenn Ruiz, Director of the Archdiocesan Liturgical Commission of the Archdiocese of Caceres at the Paulines Bookstore.

 

 

APC Tacloban marks centenary with two new members

 

     

TACLOBAN – Two new members were added to the Association of Pauline Cooperators, Tacloban as it celebrated the centenary of its foundation. Nita Esma and Nympha Trinchera received their APC pins after they publicly made their promise as Pauline Cooperators. Everybody considered them as gifts to the Centenary foundation anniversary. The promise was held during the APC Centenary Celebration on June 28.

Most Rev. Oscar Jaime Florencio, DD., Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Cebu presided the 7:00 am Mass at the Daughters of St. Paul Chapel. Twenty committed APC jubilantly attended on which four are returnees. Present too during the ceremony, were Sr. Justin Vargas, the Local Superior, Sr. Gemma Ria F. dela Cruz, APC Formator; Sr. Gemma Gamab and Sr. Clemens Rabaya. Two APC aspirants, respective husbands of the two newly-inducted APC also attended the celebration.

Everybody felt renewed by the inspiring words of Bishop Florencio who dwelt on the theme ‘Wake up the World with the Light of the Gospel’. He said that “being light is to be courageous in facing challenges to let Jesus Christ be known to all”. The good Bishop, who is ever supportive of the TV Mission in Tacloban, reminded the group that the Blessed Founder was happy in heaven as he looks on them celebrating their foundation.

Sr. Justin Vargas gave her Congratulatory message and words of encouragement to the group as they embarked to an intensified celebration of the Centenary year with the following projects such as regular book displays, TV apostolate, One Bible per Family, visit to prisoners with Catechism, Special Mass Sponsors to chosen Parishes, Feeding Program matched with “Lamrag”, diffusion of Pauline Magazines, recruitment of the “Gioventu di Paolini” (Young APC), and promotions of the Association of Pauline Cooperators through print, radio, television, and social media.  

The Eucharistic Celebration was followed by a breakfast in which the family spirit was sustained since everybody brought a dish to share to everyone.

 

TUGUEGARAO – Members of the Association of Pauline Cooperators (APC) in Tuguegarao celebrated the feast of St. Paul and the opening of the APC Centenary with a Eucharistic celebration presided by Archbishop Sergio Utleg, D.D. at the Archbishop’s Palace.

 

ZAMBOANGA –The opening of the centenary of the Association of Pauline Cooperators in Zamboanga was held on June 30 with a Eucharistic Celebration presided by Fr. Jude Duncombe. The Mass was held at 6:00 am at the function room, on the third floor of the Pauline House named Damascus Heights.
