Postulant Joy Enters Novitiate

Postulant Joy Ingrid Montes officially entered the Novitiate last August 20, 2019 after an eight-day retreat facilitated by Sr. Evangelina Canag.  Present were Provincial Superior Sr. Delia Abian and her government, Sr. Evangelina Canag (retreat facilitator), Sr. Yolanda Dionisio (novice formator), co-novice Judith Ma Le, Sr. Victoria Palay (local superior of Lipa) and her community. The rite of entrance took place before the Thanksgiving Mass presided by Father Leo Mar Arenillo CSsR.  A simple reception was held after the Mass.

Novitiate is the real initiation into the Pauline religious life.  It is a time set apart for reflection, self-discipline, and contemplation, during which the novice profoundly adheres to Christ in the knowledge and practice of the evangelical counsels and strives to make the Pauline charism her own by meditating on God’s action in the history of the congregation and by assimilation of the Constitutions. (Constitutions 94).
