The Daughters of Saint Paul-Iloilo, represented by Sr. Maria Jose Lorilla, FSP, together with four members of the Association of Pauline Cooperators, in collaboration withAng Dios Gugma Community, a healing ministry movement in the Archdiocese of Jaro, conducted a Basic Bible Animation at the San Lorenzo Ruiz Parish in Sitio Tinaan, Dapdap, Tigbauan, Iloilo on September 5, 2015. Like the crowd whom Jesus fed with five loaves and two fish, 108 parishioners of the newly erected parish flocked to the church to receive their free Bibles and be instructed on how to use and read it, manifesting active participation during the course of animation.
After having introduced the Bible to them, an anticipated Mass was celebrated. Rev. Fr. Roy Ronald Bretaña, the parish priest, highlighting the gospel reading for the 23rdSunday in Ordinary Time, encouraged his parishioners to allow God to open their ears, minds, hearts and being to listen and to read the Word of God. He made them realize that they are indeed blessed for having received the Bibles so that they can now make their Bible sharing, an initial activity to start their MKK (Munting Kristianong Katilingban).
Fr. Ronald expressed his gratitude to the FSP, APC, and Ang Dios Gugma for having chosen his parish as recipient of the Bibles- it was indeed the answer to his prayer and desire for his parishioners. The bibles were blessed after the post-Communion prayer. The anonymous sponsors and donors of the Bibles were also gratefully remembered by the recipients in prayer during the mass.
