Daughters of St. Paul Volunteer as Poll Watchers

Sisters Maricar Andamon, Lina Salazar, Clemens Mallete, Lorena Briones, Mary Ann Salvilla, Antonieta Molina, Porferia Ocariza and Crosifissa Villodres volunteered as poll watchers of Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV) during the May 10 automated elections.

As poll watchers who are given by the Commission on Elections the responsibility as citizens’ arm, have to help ensure an orderly flow of election. They have to know the processes conducted by the Board of Election Inspectors (BEI). They have to record all that they have seen and heard and they have to take pictures when there are irregularities that happen during the voting, canvassing and printing of Election Returns. But most of all they have to see to it that every citizen has the chance to exercise his/her right to vote.

PPCRV’s vision is to have a Clean, Honest, Accurate, Meaningful and Peaceful (CHAMP) elections. It is a national parish-based, non partisan lay organization actively supported by the Catholic hierarchy.
