FSP- Bangkok marks foundation anniversary helping poor families

Amidst the COVID19 pandemic, the community of Thailand celebrated its 26th foundation anniversary last April 21, 2020 reaching out to poor families in their area.

The Sisters started the day with a thanksgiving mass celebrated by the priests of Oblates of Mary Immaculate (OMI). Grateful to the Lord for His goodness and bountiful blessings He showered upon the community, we opted to share a little of our resources from our own poverty.

God multiplied the little amount we had by sending generous people who joined us in the gift giving.

We distributed facemasks and dry goods (rice, cooking oil, oyster sauce, fish sauce, sardines, dried cakes) to poor families in the slum area near our place who have been badly affected by the lockdown since March 22.

Just like everybody else, we also felt deeply the impact of the pandemic, yet in our poverty we chose to share the little we had fully convinced that God can never be outdone in His generosity.

We give life to our act of charity especially during this time when people experience hunger more than before.

The pandemic reminds us that solidarity is a recognition that “we are all in this together”, therefore with grateful hearts to the God who provides, we can be sure that He will take care of everything we need. – Sr. Christine Mesias, fsp

And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work. (2 Cor. 9:8)
